The Through Line

Years ago, I wrote my first screenplay. I read the book, Screenwriter’s Bible, I wrote the screenplay, and sent it off to the author of the book who is a script consultant. After feedback and suggestions for changes, he gave it a greenlight for marketing to Hollywood, of which I never did.

However, my efforts were not in vain as I acquired so much knowledge during that whole process. One valuable lesson that I learned is that every good story has a solid through line.

A through line is a connecting theme, plot, or characteristic of the story. A powerful movie that moves the hearts of people has a powerful through line. It is unmovable, and every scene is in harmony with it.

When you see a movie that is not emotionally satisfying, most likely, it is because the through line is weak, or that there are incongruencies with the script relating to the through line.

This concept is not only applicable to scripts. It applies to anyone’s story, even the story of our human existence on this planet.

When God first spoke to me to write a book regarding His views on blood sacrifice, He gave me the title of the book, Remnants of Ur. At the time, I did not realize that the Bible has a strong through line regarding the subject of blood sacrifice.

As I studied, it became crystal clear that God has been trying to communicate to humans for the past five thousand years about this very subject, and humans are determined not to listen to what the spirit of God is saying.

In fact, they become violent when confronted with this message, which has led to the death of the most outspoken prophets.

The Bible is an amazing book. It is one of the oldest books on our planet, and the number one best seller of all times.

It is somewhat of a diary of the Hebrew people. The Bible tells a story of man’s plight as he interacts with an invisible force that he calls the true and living God.

The story starts at the precivilization days of Noah, and continues through the first century. It ends with a prophetic look that harmoniously supports the through line as the story concludes in the book of Revelation.

The Bible covers a three-thousand-year span. This gives us ample time to see that it is not just a fad or one event starting a new movement, but is consistent over time. It has dozens of contributing authors, and is not just one man’s experience but shared amongst many witnesses.

The Bible is a valuable instrument to glean insight into who and what this invisible force is, a force that can truly interact with the spirit of man.

The Bible is a spiritual tool that can only be interpreted to an individual by the spirit of God in order to find the truth within its pages.

Unfortunately, the Bible is disparaged by many in the world because of the influence of the religious leaders who have misinterpreted its content to their flocks. They have created armies of people who bare bitter spiritual fruit, while boasting that they represent God.

These Christian leaders are blind leaders of the blind.

If they truly knew God, then they would know and teach the through line of the Bible, but they are seemingly ignorant of it.

The through line of the Bible is simple. God does NOT want blood sacrifice.

God has been saying it for five thousand years, starting with the story of Noah, and humans will not listen. Why?

Because they are blinded and deafened by religious culture. This concept is exemplified in the life of Noah.

Noah was able to understand the instructions of God in order to build a large vessel, even to exact specifications. He was able to discern that God wanted him to gather his family and two of every kind of animal, so it is obvious from this story that Noah could hear the spiritual voice of God.

However, hearing God’s voice is not the most important feature of Noah’s story. It is the directions of God that Noah could not understand that adheres to the through line of the Bible.

When Noah was getting off the ark, God spoke unto Noah, saying, “go forth of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and their wives with you.”

“Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the Earth and be fruitful and may multiply upon the Earth.”

In the next scene, Noah obeyed God to bring out the animals and, immediately, proceeded to perform blood sacrifice upon an altar.

God’s response is paramount. “I will never again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.”

Apparently, God’s plan to rid the Earth of the evil practice of blood sacrifice didn’t work, because of the influence of Noah’s culture upon his thinking which was acquired during his youth.

In this story, it shows that God can take a man out of his culture, but He cannot take the culture out of the man.

It was the influence of religious culture which prevented Noah from understanding the very clear directions of God.

Noah only had one female and one male of every species. How can they ALL breed if some are used as a sacrifice on an altar?

And, so the five-thousand-year-old story begins about humans and their insane attachment to blood sacrifice that they would take with them through the ages.

It is blood sacrifice that is the core feature of the Hebrew and Christian religions.

The descendants of Isaac and Ishmael are fighting right now in the Middle East over a piece of real estate that each son desires to possess.

Ishmael wants to pray at the site, while Isaac wants to build a third temple in order to resume sacrificing animals to Yahweh, so they can usher in the Messiah.

Newsflash, the Messiah has come and he was treated even worse than the prophets, Jeremiah and Isaiah, were.

The prophesy of Revelation adheres perfectly to the through line of the Bible when it tells of the coming judgement upon those who chose their blood sacrificial religion over the words of God spoken through Christ. They didn’t just reject his words, they brutally murdered him.

And, what about the Christian religion?

They think they are safe, yet they have done even worse.

They accuse God of offering up the Messiah as a human sacrifice, and rejoice at the brutal death of the chosen one of God. They claim to be followers of Christ, all the while they ignore his teachings.

The through line of the Bible is rock-solidly consistent, starting with Noah, spoken about by the prophets, and acted out by Christ himself.

Jesus went into the temple and turned over the money tables, freed all the sacrificial animals, and would not allow anyone to carry a vessel through the temple. Those vessels held the blood of sacrificial animals that were being taken to the Priest to sprinkle on the altar.

Obviously, Jesus was not a fan of the practice, and ironically, he was turned into a blood sacrificial religion that claims to be based up his life and teachings.

Christianity is full of people who are blind to the through line of a five-thousand-year-old story, a through line that has been shrouded by their cloaked leaders, the ones Christ called, the wolves in sheep’s clothing.
